"Hey, can I have a refill?"
"Certainly, I'll be right back with that!"
"Can I have another one of these cakes? They are sooo good."
"Why, of course!"
Kinoko rushed into the back of her shop, her arms full of kitchenware. "Refill this, another cake, got it... Oh yea, her dress..."
Dumping the dirty dishes in the sink, she set the glass of lemonade and the chocolate pastry on a round, silver tray, "Where is Serena? It should be four already and I need her to rinse my dishes while she's at it..." she grabbed the brightly wrapped package tied with ribbons on her way out of the swinging doors. Oh, great, the little brats just splattered ice cream all over my nice floors! she lamented as she went by, passing the apologetic mother some napkins from the front pocket of her frilly white apron [she absolutely detested].
"Here you are, ma'am," she said brightly as she set down the cake and the drink, "Please enjoy!" she bade her as she went off to the next table, "And here is your dress ma'am, all set and ready to go," she beamed - it shouldn't be a wonder that nobody could believe the owner of Sweets Cafe used her position as a cover job - brightly, "I'm sure your daughter will look absolutely lovely in it!"
She thanked the woman again and looked around her shop. The bright and happy gold wallpaper winked at her, adding a cheery look to the small shop. Ok, it wasn't small exactly - it could seat seventy eight people - but it was still small as it was only an extension of her house. Go figure.
"Gah, Serena and Hanshou should be here by now!" she muttered, taking care that nobody caught her impatient gaze, "Grand opening and they're missing it! What about the pranks we were talking about?" Granted, the humans had no idea why the proprietress was holding another "grand opening" when her shop had been open for almost five years, but hey, she just finished a huge assignment and there was cause to CELEBRATE!! If only the others were here...
./OOC;` Yes, the huge assignment could be taken to mean our forum. IT IS UP!! ^^ Have fun peoples!! ^^ [Sorry this post was long, it was introductory and I'm so honored to be able to post the first thread on Vain Attempt!! I love you all!! n.n

OOC: Calm down already, geez. >.>
Serena walked through the door, she was glad to hear the door was silent. Usually cafe's had those annoying, clanging bells attached to the door.
"Well this is a pretty nice place Kinoko has here." She had never been to Kinoko's cafe, so she stood there looking around a bit. Serena was in her human form, she certainly wasn't stupid enough to go walking around with a tail and wolf ears out. Maybe as a wolf, I could get by as a huge dog.
As a human, it felt weird having ears right on the sides of her head. The only thing to suggest she was different was her silver hair. Speaking of appearances, today she had decided to wear black cargo pants, a black tanktop, and of course to top it off, a pair of black Vans.
"Guess I'll have to wait for Kinoko to come out of the kitchen."

A boy with a gray cloak came through the door. He looked around and saw an open table in the corner of the room, and sat down in it. There he waited to be brought food.
"May i help you sir" a waitress asked him as she walked up to him.
"Yes can i have some candy please?" The boy asked. the waitress walked off and went to get him some food.

./OOC;` Ehh... Blake...? ^^;;; First of all, the only waitress is Kinoko... And second of all... You gotta double-space between paragraphs. XD Thanks. XD And it's a Sweets, shop, no entrees unless you're rich and willing to pay. XD Since I love you so much, I'll actually... FIX IT FOR YOU!! XD The paragraphs at any rate... >>
Kinoko backed her way out of the kitchen with a tray of cokes and grinned, balancing it on one hand as she waved enthusiastically, "'Ey, Serena, about time!! Sit there," she pointed to a table near the kitchen door that had a "Reserved" sign sitting on the tabletop, "I'll be right with you after I deliver these!"
She quickly walked over to Table Nine and handed the group of surly teenagers their drinks and skipped over to the doorway, "Hello Sir, a table for one? Right this way please!" She strolled a couple of paces down the aisle, stopping briefly to hand out some straws to a requesting customer, "Would a window seat be alright for you, Sir?"

As he was waiting for his candy he looked out the window that he was sitting next to, and saw someone getting beat up. In the ally way across the street. I need to go help him he thought. He got up from his seat and headed over to the doorway. He walked past some tables telling the waitress (kinoko)
"Sorry I need to leave so can you cancel my order?" He said as he walked past her.

Thetiqua poked her head in the door and looked around.
"Drats...Hanshou's not here either."she muttered.
Then her eyes fell upon a...MOON CAKE!!!
"I want it!!!"she yelled, and blinked her eyes at Kinoko.
"Ahem, I want 24 moon cakes, please."

./OOC;` Gah, forget Wolfie. XD
Kinoko had just come out of the kitchen when a loud yell erupted, causing every head in the cafe to turn towards a new girl with the aura of a fox demon. Interesting.
"Twenty-four moon cakes, coming right up!" Kinoko beamed, delivering the pastries on her tray to their proper owners, "Would you like that to-go or would you like a seat?" she inquired politely as she stepped behind the glass counter that displayed delectable treats for the appreciative eye, "Any particular flavors?"

OOC: Well, then forget you too! XP
Serena went to sit at the table indicated by Kinoko. "I hope this doesn't take too long!" I wanna go pull some pranks on the humans! They're fun to mess with. She laughed at the thought of the looks on those poor Humans' faces.
Kinoko came back out, but then got busy again as more customers came. No, now this is going to take forever! A fox demon had come in through the silent door. "Well, it's nice to see that there are others here." Others, because not long before a Wolf Demon had gone out of the cafe. It was odd, seeing as most Wolf Demons liked to keep to themselves, they even travelled and lived in small groups.

"Yay! Do you have hong do?"She paused for a moment, forgetting that people usually did not understand her when she spoke another language. Then, she remembered that sometimes cafes did not have the flavor you wanted. She peered at the see-through glass that displayed all the sweets and her eyes went wider as she saw more and more sweets.
"May I please have the red bean ice cream filling for the moon cakes?" Thetiqua always made sure to be courteous to the people who served her. But of course, there were always a few jerks that made selling things hell for the cashiers. She looked at the table where a girl giving off the aura of a wolf demon sat. She wondered why the girl was the only other person in the cafe and smelled the aroma of the nice sweets. And as she smelled the sweets, she reminisced about the time her mother took her to the restaurant.
Flashback: "Thetiqua, this is Rayna. She is the one who manages all the takeout orders for the sushi shop." Thetiqu politely gave her a little hello and turned to look at all the customers. A human came in and pointed at Rayna. "Give me a calfornia roll NOW! And you better have it ready in two minutes!" Rayna nodded her head slowly and prepared the calfornia roll. It took her 2 minutes and 15 seconds to wrap it up properly, for she was an expert at restaurant services. But the man got angry and stomped on the roll. Rayna smiled at me and said, "There's always a couple of people like that." [end of flashback] The person that had asked if she had any prefrences had been so friendly. Thetiqua gave her a tip and took a seat in the table next the wolf demon.

OOC: Risha, because it was very minor, I'm not going to give you a warning this time. You forced Kinoko's charrie to do something in your post, that can be considered power playing. I would just like to ask if you can try and not do that. Alrighty?

.OOC;` Whoo! I finally joined in! Cheer for me! XDD
Hanshou stepped through the door and stood on the inside to scan the all-too-cheerful shop for Kinoko. Not seeing any sign of her, she stood leaning against the door. Hmm...Where is she?.
As she stood in silence to observe her surroundings, she noticed a commotion coming from outside. She turned around and peered through the glass door to get a better view. Villagers outside were heading towards the shop, talking excitedly about the Grand Opening. Wow, she gets a lot of customers..., she thought as they all streamed through the door.
Stepping to the side to let them by, she noticed numbers on the side of the door. These are to give an estimate of criminals' heights as they flee. Having nothing to do, she stood up against the door and measured her height. 5' 7". "Darn, haven't grown an inch," she said to herself, and chuckled. As she looked up, she saw some of the customers staring at her. Her eyebrows raised in amusement. What?
